Tech Terrace

Established in 1925, Tech Terrace holds the distinction of being Lubbock’s first planned suburb. Situated near Texas Tech University and within close proximity to two major medical centers, the neighborhood covers roughly one square mile and features homes dating back to the 1930s. Its location and layout make it especially appealing for residents who value walkability and daily convenience. Cafés, bakeries, and local gathering spots are easily accessible on foot, creating natural opportunities for neighbors to connect. Since its formation in 1974, the Tech Terrace UNIT Neighborhood Association has played an active role in preserving the area’s character, hosting events that strengthen relationships among residents while maintaining the neighborhood’s unique identity. The community is known for its wide range of residents, including students, long-term homeowners, families, medical professionals, and university staff, all contributing to a dynamic and inclusive atmosphere.
